San Diego Rhythm & Vine
By Rob Greenstein
This coming Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 6:00 P.M.- 10:00 P.M., the 2nd annual Rhythm and Vine fundraiser event will take place at Westfield North County Fair in Escondido, California. It is dubbed as "A Music and Wine Festival Benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego." Ticket prices range from $75-$125 when purchased in advance from the Rhythm and Vine website. The tax deductible ticket price includes tastings from over 60 wineries, spirits and breweries and over 35 restaurants and is well worth the price. There will be three stage areas and live music throughout the event. John Torres, an L.A. based singer-songwriter, will start the show with an acoustic performance. Atomic Groove, a high-energy and versatile dance band will play the main stage from 7:00-9:00. Poway based Crossroads, a classic rock band skilled at recreating the rich vocal harmonies of bands like The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and the Beatles, will play the VIP stage from 6:00-7:00 and then close the show with a set from 9:00-10:00. The entire music production will be run by Carlsbad-based JNR Pro Sound. Most important, all proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego and will benefit over 23,000 kids. The event coordinators are welcoming those who wish to volunteer to help with this special event. The website is filled with detailed information as well as a "buy tickets" interface. The site makes it very clear that no one under 21 will be admitted, including infants, so beware. This is for grown-ups only! What a great way to spend a Saturday evening with wine, food, new friends and live music under the stars-all for a great cause!
Rob Greenstein is the President of Diversified Enterprises, LLC. and its family of companies and is also the bass player for the band Crossroads who were invited back for their second performance at the festival. Rob had a great time last year and hopes to meet you Saturday!

Thank you for sharing this great idea for a fundraiser, Rob. I wish that we lived in that area, sounds like fun. Hopefully the adults will leave the dogs home with the rest of the children. Best wishes. Frederick
